Patients in Malaysia now check a doctor on Instagram, TikTok and Google before they ever call the clinic. That has pushed hospitals, specialist centres and GP groups to look for marketing help that understands healthcare, not just ads.
The problem is that healthcare marketing here comes with rules most general agencies never deal with. Medical advertising needs approval from the Medicine Advertisements Board (the KKLIU number you see on clinic ads), doctors are bound by the Malaysian Medical Council code of conduct, and private facilities fall under the Private Healthcare Facilities and Services Act. Get it wrong and the clinic, not the agency, carries the risk.
So we put together a short list of agencies in Malaysia that say they focus on healthcare, plus a checklist you can use when you talk to any of them.
What to look for first
- Healthcare work you can actually see. Ask for real doctor or hospital campaigns, not stock mockups.
- Knows the rules. They should talk about MAB approval, MMC guidelines and patient consent without you having to bring it up.
- Video, not just posts. Patients choose doctors they feel they know. Short videos of the doctor speaking do that better than anything else.
- Numbers that matter. Enquiries, appointments and cost per lead. Likes alone do not fill a clinic.
- Your doctors stay in control. Every script, caption and claim should be approved by the doctor before it goes out.
Healthcare marketing agencies in Malaysia
In no particular order. Descriptions are based on each agency's own website.
Brandstorm Asia, Subang Jaya
Brandstorm Asia is a healthcare only branding and content agency based in SS15, Subang Jaya. It was set up in 2020 by Pradeep Balaram and Aiman Manan, and it works exclusively with doctors, specialist clinics, hospitals and healthcare brands. No property developers, no FMCG, no restaurants. That focus is the whole point.
Its starting belief is simple: patients do not choose a logo, they choose a doctor they feel they already know. So instead of selling clinics more posters and promotions, Brandstorm builds the doctor into the brand, then puts that doctor in front of the right patients again and again.
What Brandstorm does
- Doctor personal branding. Positioning, story and a recognisable on camera identity, so the specialist becomes the reason patients choose the practice.
- Video series that people actually watch. Short form reels, doctor explainers, myth busting and podcast style content, planned, shot and edited in house.
- Social media management. Monthly content for Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, written and approved with the doctor so nothing goes out that the doctor has not seen.
- Paid ads and lead generation. Meta and TikTok campaigns built around enquiries and appointments, with cost per lead tracked every week.
- Campaigns and events. Awareness drives, launches and community events for hospitals and clinic groups.
- Compliance minded from day one. Content is planned around MAB approval and MMC guidelines, with the doctor signing off every claim.
Work you may have seen
- The Bald Oncologist. Brandstorm helped Dr Malwinder Singh build The Bald Oncologist into one of the most recognisable doctor brands in Malaysian oncology.
- Dr Kiru. A personal brand that took a surgeon's expertise beyond the operating theatre and into everyday conversations online.
- Damansara Specialist Hospital. The concept and storytelling behind "The Breast Thing I Ever Had", DSH's Pink October breast cancer awareness campaign, launched in the presence of the Tengku Permaisuri Selangor.
- Dr KO Skin Specialist. Organising partner for the first Dr KO Konfident Family Fun Run, which brought more than 1,000 people to Eco Ardence, Setia Alam.
- Care Clinics. Social media content for one of Malaysia's largest primary care networks, with more than 200 clinics.
- The BrandLaureate Medical & Healthcare Advancement BestBrands Awards 2026. Co organised by Brandstorm, recognising healthcare leaders and organisations across Malaysia and the region.
Brandstorm says it has worked with more than 90 doctors to date, across specialties from oncology and orthopaedics to dentistry, dermatology and primary care.
Why doctors and hospitals choose Brandstorm
- It only does healthcare, so the team already understands procedures, patient fears and what you can and cannot say.
- The doctor is the hero, not the agency. Content is built to make patients trust a real person.
- Everything is in house, from strategy and scripting to filming, editing and ads, so ideas do not get lost between vendors.
- It reports on patients, not likes: enquiries, leads and cost per lead.

Why doctors and hospitals should use a healthcare specialist
- Compliance is built in. A healthcare agency plans around MAB and MMC rules from day one, instead of fixing posts after a complaint.
- They speak doctor. Less time explaining procedures, more time getting the message right.
- Trust is the product. Healthcare is chosen in scared moments. The work has to build credibility first and reach second.
- Content that lasts. A good doctor video or article keeps bringing in patients for years, long after an ad stops running.
The DocTok take
There is no single best agency. A hospital group chasing medical tourists needs something very different from a solo specialist building a name. Ask every agency on this list the same five questions from our checklist, look at real doctor work, and pick the one whose numbers and compliance answers you trust.
If you are a doctor or healthcare business and want to be featured on DocTok yourself, here is how it works.
Agency details were taken from each agency's own website and public listings in October 2026 and may change. Know an agency that should be on this list? Message us on WhatsApp.
